Export clusters in Tamil Nadu and what they make
Tamil Nadu's export factories sit in a few dense belts: knitwear and home textiles in the west around Tiruppur, Karur, Erode and Coimbatore; leather in the north around Ambur, Vellore and Chennai; and printing in the south at Sivakasi.

Products we inspect in Tamil Nadu
- Knitwear from Tiruppur: T-shirts and knit tops and children's clothing, where spirality, GSM, print adhesion and drawstrings are the usual checks. All garment types are on the apparel inspection page.
- Home textiles from Karur and Erode: bed sheets and duvet covers, table linen and curtains; see home textiles inspection.
- Handloom and silk: handloom fabrics and silk sarees, including Silk Mark and zari checks.
- Leather from Ambur and Vellore: leather shoes and leather handbags.
- Coir from Pollachi: coir doormats and coir pith and growing media.
- Engineering goods from Coimbatore: pumps and electric motors, with nameplate, performance-test witnessing and packing checks.
- Printing from Sivakasi: printed books and diaries.
How coverage and travel work in Tamil Nadu
Our inspectors are based in Jodhpur, Jaipur, Saharanpur, Moradabad, Delhi NCR and Kolkata. None is in Tamil Nadu, so every visit in the state is Band C: an inspector travels in, and the actual travel cost is quoted before you book. Allow up to 5 working days' notice.
- Group visits by belt. Tiruppur, Erode, Karur and Coimbatore are close together, as are Ambur, Vellore and Ranipet. Booking several factories on consecutive days lets one trip cover them and shares the travel cost.
- Same standard everywhere. Each report follows the same checklist and verdict wording, and a supervisor reviews it before release.
- Container loading. Many Tamil Nadu exporters stuff containers at the factory; container loading supervision checks count, carton condition and the container itself.

How to book an inspection in Tamil Nadu
Send the product, the factory's address and the ready date through the booking form. Add your specification, label artwork and photos of the approved sample. Within 24 hours we confirm the inspector, the notice we need, the man-days and the price, including travel. The report arrives within 24 hours of the inspection with a verdict of Cleared to load, Hold or Not cleared.
