How to use these guides
Start with the market you sell into and list each product you plan to order. For each one, note which safety, labelling and wood rules apply, and which documents your supplier must send before the goods ship. Rules and duty rates change, so check the official sources linked at the end of each guide when you import.
The guides link to detailed pages in our regulations library, such as EUDR for wood furniture, the Lacey Act and ISPM 15. They are general information, not legal advice.
Where inspection fits
Most import rules are met on paper, but the paper has to match the goods. An inspection at the factory in India checks labels, origin marks, wood species, packaging marks and product condition before the container is loaded. Clear To Load reports reach the buyer within 24 hours with a verdict of Cleared to load, Hold or Not cleared. See pre-shipment inspection, pricing or book an inspection.
