Export clusters in Haryana and what they make
Haryana has three Towns of Export Excellence. Panipat is on the DGFT list twice, for woollen blankets and for carpets, other textile floor coverings and bed linen. Gurgaon is listed for apparel, and Faridabad was added for apparel under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023.

Products we inspect in Haryana
- Floor coverings: bath mats, dhurries and kilims and cotton and rag rugs.
- Home textiles: woollen blankets, cushions, curtains and bed sheets and duvet covers. See the home textiles inspection overview.
- Garments: woven shirts, T-shirts and knit tops and kurtas and ethnic wear.
- Utensils: aluminium and non-stick cookware and copper and brass kitchenware.
Panipat orders often move between weaving, tufting, stitching and packing units. Size, weight and shade are the most common problems, so a during-production inspection at the weaving or tufting stage is worth considering on large orders.
How coverage and travel work in Haryana
Our nearest inspectors are based in Delhi NCR, which takes in Gurgaon and Faridabad, and in Saharanpur, just across the state border:
- Band B, US$99 per man-day: factories in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Manesar and Sonipat, in and around Delhi NCR, where our inspectors are based. Notice is from the same day to 3 working days.
- Band C, actual travel cost quoted before you book: Panipat, Karnal, Ambala, Hisar and the rest of the state are reached from Delhi NCR. Jagadhri and Yamunanagar can also be reached from our Saharanpur base, across the Yamuna river. Allow up to 5 working days.
The inspection fee is US$249 per man-day in every band; see pricing. Panipat units close for several days around Diwali, and the July–September monsoon slows drying of backed and washed products, so plan ready dates with that in mind.
Tariffs and craft rules worth knowing
US tariffs. The Tribune reported in September 2025 that Panipat's exports fell by over 40% after the US raised tariffs on Indian goods on 27 August 2025. US rates have changed since, so check the current duty for your product with your customs broker, and your supplier's present capacity, before you place a large order.
Phulkari. Phulkari embroidery is a registered geographical indication whose area covers Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan (GI application 27, certificate 2010). A GI protects the name only; it does not certify a factory or a lot.
Labelling and safety. Rugs sold in the US must meet the flammability rules in 16 CFR 1630 and 1631, and fibre labelling applies in the US and EU. How to book an inspection in Haryana
Send the product, the factory's town and address, and the ready date through the booking form, or use the prefilled form for Panipat. Include size and weight tolerances, approved-sample photos and label artwork.
We confirm the inspector, man-days and price within 24 hours. The report follows within 24 hours of the inspection, after supervisor review, with a verdict of Cleared to load, Hold or Not cleared.
