What is made in Coimbatore
The district administration's economy page calls Coimbatore the pump city of Asia and says its pump industry holds a major share of the Indian market. The same page, last updated on 9 July 2018, says the city has more than 700 wet grinder manufacturers and a large number of small, medium and large textile mills. Treat these as the administration's own description; it gives no year for the 40% figure.
Guidance Tamil Nadu, the state's investment promotion agency, also lists Coimbatore among the state's automobile and auto-component clusters, without naming products.

Timing and logistics
We have no inspector based in Tamil Nadu, so an inspector travels in and the travel cost is quoted before you book. Coimbatore has an airport, and it sits next to Tiruppur, under 50 km away in a straight line, so engineering and knitwear orders can share one trip.
- Test schedule: performance and load tests take time on a single test bed. Tell us how many units per model you want tested, and ask the factory to have the bench, calibrated instruments and test sheets ready, or the visit can run into a second man-day.
- Containers: trade press reported in August 2025 that CONCOR's inland container depot at Irugur, Coimbatore, began sending export containers through Kochi. Where crates are stuffed at the factory, container loading supervision records the count, crate condition, lashing and seal.
- Festivals: many units close for Pongal in mid-January and for Ayudha Puja, when tools and machines are honoured, around Dussehra.
