Updated 14 Oct 2026: the accreditation criterion now counts India's NABCB register (checked 14 Oct 2026) alongside each company's own site. Bureau Veritas's NABCB accreditation, described below, meets our top accreditation score, so it rose from 13 to 14. The rubric does not measure inspector skill or report quality.
Bureau Veritas's Indian inspection accreditation
India's accreditation register, kept by NABCB, lists Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services (India) Private Limited as an ISO/IEC 17020:2012 Type A inspection body. The details, checked on 14 Oct 2026:
| Certificate | IB 157, valid from 4 Aug 2025 to 3 Aug 2028 |
|---|---|
| Office covered | Noida (main office) |
| Products | Apparel, home textiles and furnishings; leather garments, footwear and accessories; wooden furniture, kitchenware and decorative items; hard goods such as furniture, stationery, decorative items, plastic and metal products, cutlery and kitchenware; toys; electrical and electronic goods |
| Inspections | Pre-shipment inspection and final random inspection: packaging, quantity, marking and visual checks |
| Methods | ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 sampling, the four-point fabric inspection system, Bureau Veritas procedures and client requirements |
This scope covers the goods Clear To Load inspects most: furniture, home décor and handicrafts and home textiles. If your retailer or contract requires an accredited inspection body in India, Bureau Veritas meets that requirement for these products today and Clear To Load does not. Ask Bureau Veritas to confirm the inspection will be performed under IB 157.

Choose Bureau Veritas if… Choose Clear To Load if…
Choose Bureau Veritas if your contract requires an accredited inspection body in India; you want inspection and testing in one group, with NABL labs in Bangalore, Noida and Tirupur; you want to book and pay online with a same-day report; or you need social and environmental audits. Clear To Load's factory audit is a capability and quality audit with basic social-compliance observations, not a SMETA or amfori BSCI audit.
Choose Clear To Load if your goods are made only in India, especially furniture and handicrafts from Rajasthan, Saharanpur or Moradabad; accreditation is not a contract requirement for you today; and you want a published price and a Cleared to load, Hold or Not cleared verdict on every report. See our sample reports.
